We’re so proud and delighted to be bringing the Picture Justice program to Australia for the first time, and especially to be bringing it to the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.
We’re also excited that this research project will help us to understand how young people in our region participate in their community. With the theme of ‘community, citizenry and processes of democracy’, participants will be building a really diverse skillet that covers civics, photography, Design Thinking, ethical interviewing, narrative development, and story editing. We have brought together a range of experts across these fields, who will all converge in Port Macquarie for 6 amazing days!
Applications will be open from 1-30 April 2019, and the program will be run from 8-13 July, 2019 (during the July school holidays).
The stories that participants create will be turned into a projected exhibition that they can share with their friends and family at ArtWalk Port Macquarie 2019.
So, if you’re in year 11 or 12 this year in a Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area school, then please apply!
